Updated Skincare Routine 2015
Hi peeps! Today I'm going to share about my current skincare routine which I have been diligently followed for a month now. As mentioned in my previous beauty-related post(s), this year my skins has been at their worst sensitive level compared to previous years. Eczema flared up and my skin became extremely sensitive to some chemical in the skincare products causing a patchy, dry and red skins which appeared burn-like! I also did mentioned that only by simplifying my skincare products to Olive oil - alone that my skin has been recovering slowly. Yes, OO (Olive Oil) did helped with the dryness, flakiness and redness but I do know that it won't help for a long run. Plus, my face does appeared oily and very dull. Upon lots of researching, reading reviews and few trials & error, I finally found few products that actually helped my skin without irritating and causing any allergic reaction whatsoever.
MORNING SKINCARE ROUTINE
1. Nature Republic - Aloe Vera 80% Emulsion 2. Nature Republic - Aloe Vera 92% Soothing Gel
3. Forever Living - Aloe Sunscreen SPF 30
For my morning routine, I keep everything very simple - down to only 3 products. I did not wash my face using any cleanser in the morning because I did not feel like I have to. Though I do rinse my face with water and pat them dry. After patting my face and neck dried (usually after a shower), I will first put the NP Aloe Vera 80% Emulsion - this product helps to give a moisture boost usually after a quick cleaning using a water or cleanser. Next step, I will took a small amount of NP Aloe Vera 92% soothing gel and quickly warmed the product using my palm before gently distributed it on my face. A combos of emulsion and the soothing gel will left my face & neck feel super moisturized and the cooling sensation from the soothing gel helped to reduce the redness and puffiness of my skin. Last but not least, it is a must for me to apply a sunscreen before putting any make up on. Usually I will warm up the product using my palm before applying it on my face. I find that this technique actually helped our skin to soaked the product more than just merely smearing the product on directly.
NIGHT SKINCARE ROUTINE
1. Safi - Olive Oil (with additional vitamins) 2. Nature Republic - Aloe Vera Foam Cleanser 3. Nature Republic - Greentinol (Green Tea) Hydrating Mask 4. Nature Republic - Aloe Vera 80% Emulsion 5. Nature Republic - Aloe Vera 92% Soothing Gel
As you can see, I do have few additional skincare product for my night time skincare routine. Since I have a full make up on mostly everyday, I will first begin by removing make up using my trusty Olive Oil. It's not only great (and cheap!) make up remover, its also can removed all water-proof make up i.e mascara and eyeliner efficiently and its does not irritated my skin like other make up remover does. After a gentle wipes to break down all the nasty make up, I will grabbed my towel and head to the shower. I usually wash my face in the shower with NP Aloe Vera Foam cleanser. Hand down - this product is awesome! Its work awesomely well removing the olive oil and make up residues from my face and left a supple clean and fresh face. After a shower, I will pat dry my face before putting any product on. Almost similar like my morning routine, I will applied both emulsion and soothing gel as my main moisturizer. However, before putting on the emulsion and soothing gel, I will take a tiny (a small drop) of olive oil to be put on my brows and my lashes. Here is a bit sharing for those who keen to know how to grow their eyebrows and eyelashes thick. Ever since I changed my product to only Olive oil, I have noticed that my eyebrows grow rate has become faster and its grow thicker than before and it is the same as per my eyelashes. Upon google's research, Olive oil actually helped to promote a healthy hair growth hence why my eyebrow and eyelashes become thicker than before. So I totally recommended you girls to try this method as it is amazingly work for me. For my night time routine, I prefer to applied a little thick amount of the soothing gel which act as a night/sleeping mask and left me with a very bouncy skin in the morning. However, on other night where I would spend an extra time for myself, I will put on a mask sheet of my choice (mostly either from Nature republic or skin food) for a little bit of omph.
Though my skincare routine has improved my sensitive + eczema skin effectively, I'm still trying to find a good natural product especially a toner and serum (I'm aging and I'm afraid to look old - there, I said it). Any good toner and serum out there which is kind to super sensitive skin people like me?
Looking forward to read all your recommendation/reviews! x
