If You Hear Her by Shiloh Walker

I got bored reading erotic romance novel. Finally it hit me that maybe my mind is not into kinky stuffs anymore. Everytime I try to read one – I went nut when it’s so fifty shades alike. Mind you; though I hate the movie – I still love the trilogy. It still one of the best erotic romance I have ever read. OK, enough about fifty shades – I recently hooked with the other romance’s genre – Romantic suspense! So, today I’m going to write and share about this book – If you hear her by Shiloh Walker.

Book’s details as per below:

A CRY IN THE WOODS

The scream Lena Riddle hears in the woods behind her house is enough to curdle her blood—she has no doubt that a woman is in real danger. Unfortunately, with no physical evidence, the local law officers in small-town Ash, Kentucky, dismiss her claim. But Lena knows what she heard—and it leaves her filled with fear and frustration.Ezra King is on leave from the state police, but he can’t escape the guilty memories that haunt his dreams. When he sees Lena, he is immediately drawn to her. He aches to touch her—to be touched by her—but is he too burdened by his tragic past to get close? When Ezra hears her story of an unknown woman’s screams, his instincts tell him that Lena’s life is also at risk—and his desire to protect her is as fierce as his need to possess her. [Source

I started reading this book during my flight to Krabi. I was immediately hooked but got distracted by all the ‘vacation’s activities’ hence I only continue to read during my flight to KL and KK. I finished the book during my flight to KK – 2 and half an hour; which I know I won’t be able to sleep are totally well spend with this book. First of all, I’m not really fan of thriller and suspense’s book. I did have a collection of John Grisham and other thriller author but it was not really my cup of tea. I guess my brain capacity is only for romance genre coz I’m literally romantic liddat. Honestly what caught me with this book at first is the illustration. *ahem* Then I read the summary of the book – I was like “Oh, suspense. Oh, alpha male. Oh, physco stuffs. Oh, hot stuffs. Oh, this might be kinky – “and yeah, my brain accumulated lots of expectation that time, making me bought the book. No harm done to the already deflated purse – It’s only RM15. #thanksGod

 So, here are my verdicts:
  •  Hot cop hero on leave looking for peace of mind + blind independent gorgeous heroine = HOT!
  • This is my first time reading Shiloh Walker’s book – I admit her story – telling writing skills are one of the best. I got hooked at the first page!
  • The flow of the plot is easy to understand – I really like the part where the author switched the POV from the serial killer and his victim. Man, it’s really awesome.
  • Here’s the thing – though Ezra; the hero I’ve considered as alpha male, he did not act all alpha i.e dominating on all situation at all. He respected Lina’s courage and independent and I admit this kind of book is really good for my mind. Good balance of alpha-ness is good – really good, in fact.
  • The steamy scene – it deserves two thumbs up! You should read this book if you want to know how steamy hot it can get.
  •  Last but not least, this book makes me buy the other two series online (Oh, it’s a trilogy by the way and If you hear her is the 1st book of the trilogy). Yeah, it’s that good and I want more.
