Caught Up in Us - Lauren Blakely

Everyone who know me well enough know that I LOVE reading, the only thing I enjoyed (apart from spending time with Beau) will be reading - immersed in other world I called bubbles. So I thought why not share what I read to other readers as well, right? I will called this kind of post as Bookworm Reads - I will share novel or E-books and write my POV despite their genres but please expect lots of romance tho. *ahem

Er. So lets get it on with my recent read - Caught Up in Us by Lauren Blakely

A second chance at first love...

Five years ago, Kat Harper fell into a dizzying summer romance with her brother's best friend Bryan. It was a mad, crazy love full of kisses all through the night -- but he broke her heart and she had to move on.

Five years later, Kat is finishing her graduate degree and building her business as a jewelry designer, when Bryan, head of his own successful company, walks back into her life. Bryan has been assigned to Kat as her new business mentor and the rules are clear. No hanky panky permitted. Kat can handle that because she's totally over him... right? Except, he still makes her laugh, and he remembers all the things she likes. Not to mention that he's even more handsome now than he was then. Then there's the spark between them -- the simply undeniable chemistry, and the tender ways he shows he still cares for her.

Can they resist each other the second time around or will first love trump all? [Source]

TBH (i/o to be honest; please expect lots of abbreviation from me in one of these day) the synopsis has already gave in what we are going to expect from this story. Actually the synopsis is what had driven me to download this E-book at the first place. *ahem I love how simple and easy-going the characters and the story line i.e plots is. I cannot even stop myself from smiling while reading this book. A loop-side curve smiles during lunch hour is not really a wise decision coz people might think you went physco or something.

I like both protagonist - Kat and Bryan. I like Kat's sense of humour and the way she was trying so hard to make herself to hate Bryan for dumping her 5 years ago and at the same time try to resist the sexual - emotional - chemistry connection between both of them. Though Kat showed and trying hard in resisting and denying her feelings, Bryan in other hand try really hard to show Kat that he still care for her and he never forgot any details about her since 5 years ago. I admit his reason for dumping Kat at the first place was obv stupid. Like really - If you love someone, you can't be that stupid right?

Anyhow, contradict to some review that I read saying that this book is boring etc coz they want those steamy-erotica story but they kind of stuck or expecting more from this book but failed to get's a bad review for them but NOT FOR ME. I guess because I previously had spent week reading some old Scottish romance (with 300++ pages; I must add) and trying to get from point A to point B to understand what is going on. SO I really appreciate this short-fresh-simple-funny-romantic kind of book. There, I said it. I love it. A big bonus for the *phone sex* coz it was really hot hot hot. Triple hot coz it is hot. HAHA Its a short yet romantic book for us (you and me - suckers for all romance books!) to enjoyed in one cosy evening with a cup of Lemon's tea or coffee next to us. Ah. The bliss.
